It’s time to announce the winner of the Piston Power Show giveaway!
I meant to post this earlier, but today was spent showing my sister around Big Fun and Flower Child on Clifton. I am now the proud owner of a framed needlepoint of my favorite comedian ever — Groucho Marx. I kid you not. And if you’re a fan of W.C. Fields, I left the needlepoint of him just for you!
But enough digressing about my love of kitsch. After using random.org to pick a winner…
… I am happy to announce that entry #3 — Kevin Ropenus’ comment about the General Lee — has won! Please email me at clueintocleveland (at) gmail (dot) com to redeem your prize.
If you didn’t win but still want to attend the Piston Power Show Sept. 30 through Oct. 2, Clue Into Cleveland readers can save $3 off online ticket purchases. Use the promo code PPSBLOG when purchasing tickets here.
What will you see at the Piston Power Show?
In addition to “celebrity” cars like the Transformers’ Bumblebee, the Indoor Soap Box Derby Rally, and the Memphis Belle plane, here are a few other highlights you can expect at the Piston Power Show:
Chip Foose, the award-winning hot rod and auto designer from the TLC show Overhaulin’, will make an appearance on October 1 at 2pm.
Legendary race car driver Hershel McGriffand his NASCAR vehicle returns to this year’s show. McGriff is not just a legend because he was the first winner of the Carrera Panamericans in 1950, but also because he’s the oldest driver to win a NASCAR feature race when he won an AutoZone West Series race in 1989 at the age of 61.
The Ohio Bike Week Pavilion makes its debut with live entertainment, custom bike builders and drink specials. Bike fans will also be able to enjoy an array of new-customs, antique collections, foreign, and hill-climber motorcycles. If you’re a bike owner, all bikes attending the event this year will enjoy FREE parking all three days of the show, compliments of Ohio Bike Week.
Thunder Row will feature thirty-two hand-picked cars, trucks, and motorcycles representing the best of the best, including a 1932 Ford Roadster, a 1955 Chevy Sedan, and the Cruisin’ Times All-Star Showcase from this summer’s outdoor show circuit.
- The Mid-Ohio School Honda Civic Skid Car will host free demonstrations for individuals looking to learn how to control a vehicle in adverse weather conditions (I will be hitting this one up for sure since winter is right around the corner!).
- In the iRacing.com Simulator, attendees will be able to virtually take a few laps at their favorite racetrack.
- And car clubs like the Antique Automobile Club of America, the Corvette Club of Cleveland, the Viper Club of America, Mid-Ohio Mopar Club, the American Truck Historical Society and the Historical Construction Equipment Association will make appearances.
So hop over to the Piston Power Show ticket site, use the code PPSBLOG and you’ll be able to enjoy all of that for only $13 (including the $1 ticket fee).
